FAQ

Can a slatted bed base be used?

Instead of the tatami mat base, you can also use your own slatted bed base. The height of the base should not exceed 42mm, however, so that it does not protrude from the steel frame.

What is the tatami mat for? Is it necessary?

The tatami mat prevents the mattress from sliding and creates a beautiful finish to the bed on which the mattress rests. For this reason, we recommend all customers to use the tatami mats.

What mattresses are recommended and how comfortable is the bed to sleep on?

In principle, the use of any mattress is possible, depending on the owner’s sleeping preferences. Minimalists might want to rest a futon on the tatami mats; for softer bedding a conventional mattress or high spring mattress are also appropriate. The linden wood base with the tatami mat creates a slightly springy base and allows many options according to individual needs and sleeping habits.

Where is the Kitanda Daybed produced?

The Kitanda Daybed - like all pan mobili products - is produced in small and medium-sized handicraft workshops in southern Germany, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. The tatami mat is sourced from a manufacturer in Japan.
We purchase our products directly from our manufacturers. This enables us to support them as well as avoid unnecessary middlemen in order to make a fair retail price possible.

Can the Kitanda Daybed be customized?

On request, we can create a custom-made bed with different dimensions or a different bed frame color. It is also possible to integrate an alternative slatted base. Feel free to write us an e-mail about your wishes.

How can I exchange or return products?

If you have any questions regarding product returns/exchanges or have concerns or complaints, please contact us by e-mail or call us. The exact rules on the right of withdrawal can be found in our Terms & Conditions.
